From the Shenandoah Town Council Minutes on July 25, 2017, Under Industrial, Economic Development & Procurement: “Town Manager Roudabush also notified Mayor Lucas and Council Members of the School Superintendent’s plan to repair the wall located beside Shenandoah Elementary School. The Superintendent suggested murals be painted on the wall of various things that represent the Town’s history, such as a railroad scene, a picture of Steven’s Cottage, etc. and requests other ideas from the Council or other Town representatives be submitted to her. Town Manager Roudabush noted the funding for this project would come mainly from donations for supplies and the murals would be completed by volunteers. Mayor Lucas suggested an image that reflects the Elementary School once being Shenandoah High School be included to show the history of the school and include the alumni of the High School as potential financial donors.”
