We would like to let everyone know that our hometown grocery store will be closing earlier than announced. Originally it was announced that Shenandoah Grocery would be closing June 1st. We have learned that they will be closing its doors for good at 3pm tomorrow Sunday May 19, 2019, and will be closing today Saturday May 18, 2019 at 5pm. All the groceries they have left have been grouped together along the front wall and they are 75% off. The Deli is still open today and will be open tomorrow also. They have already begun to dismantle their shelving and peg boards, and have advertised them for sale on their Facebook page. Please share this and help us get the word out that our hometown grocery store will be closing its doors for good tomorrow. To the Sullivan Family, and many, many store employees that worked at the IGA over the years, we thank you for a wonderful 40 years of providing our town with a grocery store. Your Generosity and caring for our town will never be forgotten, You were not only business owners but our friends. Thanks for all you have given us. In closing, we leave you with a quote from Archie Hensley whom worked at the IGA for 20 + years It was good being around a lot of people, said Hensley, reflecting on his time in the grocery business. I enjoy and get along with people and treat them right.
