Folks, we have some important information to pass on to you. A lot of you have been asking us what’s up with that construction dumpster at the former IGA Building. We all have noticed that the For Sale Signs have been removed. We just received the following information from Shenandoah’s Town Manager Juanita Roudabush.
From Paul Dovel and Scot Mealey:
We are excited to announce that the former IGA building in Shenandoah has been purchased by Paul Dovel and Scot Mealey.
Autodealz will be relocated into the former IGA grocery. This will allow Autodealz to expand the service and detail department.
We are just as excited to announce plans to help a local entrepreneur with her start-up business! If all goes as planned, she will be opening a small-town deli, offering fresh lunch meat, cheeses, eggs, butter, milk, bread, and fresh fruits and vegetables when available! The intent is to source most of the food through local growers and vendors. It is very evident that many of the town citizens would love to see an offering of a variety of foods that were once offered by the IGA deli, such as baked goods and hot foods.
Local businesses can survive only by the support of the local community. We hope that this small revitalization will bring more business to the town of Shenandoah and hope that all local businesses join us in the support of one another. It truly does take a village.
