Original Post date February 3, 2026 Old Pharmacy Property Has Been Sold
On Monday February 2, 2026 we met and spoke with Jeff Noland with Shenandoah Valley Foods Development and he told us that they indeed are the new owners of former pharmacy property. He told us that they are still exploring how best to use the building. Jeff also mentioned that in a few weeks they would be cleaning up around the building, removing the old green house, taking down some small trees, brush and doing a little landscaping. There will be an additional access road constructed to their facility coming in from Pulaski Avenue. He said the facility will bring about 20 jobs and will eventually include a meat market.
We found the following announcement on Shenandoah Valley Foods website:
“Shenandoah Valley Foods is a farmer-focused food business located in rural Virginia. We are developing a state-of-the-art food processing plant in Shenandoah, Virginia along with the supply chain and sales channels needed to allow the business to thrive for years to come. The new facility will have further processing capacity for making value-added products including jerky and sausage as well as a premium capability to fabricate, package and distribute fresh meat.”

So, what is the importance of a Meat Process Facility in Page County? First of all, we would like to clarify that this facility would not be slaughtering animals, instead it will be a meat processing facility only, and has been talked about for about two years now. There is a bottle neck at slaughter houses nationwide that has created supply chain issues for beef and pork, forcing some farmers to travel to other states, including Pennsylvania to be slaughtered and some delays in being slaughtered have delayed for up to one year. By locating a meat processing facility in Page County, would free up and create more room at local slaughter houses, eliminating the need for local farmers to travel outside the area to get their beef and pork slaughtered. This facility would not only serve farmers in Page County, but could serve farms in Rockingham, Augusta, and Shenandoah Counties.
What else has been published about this Meat Processing project Coming to Page County:
